Mosquito Control

Mosquitoes are known to be one of the deadliest creatures on earth due to the diseases they carry and transmit through their bites. In the United States, mosquitoes are responsible for the transmission of several harmful diseases, including the following.

West Nile Virus

Mosquitoes transmit the West Nile virus, which can cause severe flu-like symptoms, encephalitis, and even death.

Zika Virus

Zika virus, transmitted by mosquitoes, can cause birth defects, including microcephaly, in infants born to infected mothers.

Dengue Fever

Mosquitoes can also transmit dengue fever, which can cause high fever, severe headache, joint pain, and bleeding.

Chikungunya Virus

Mosquito bites can also transmit the chikungunya virus, which causes severe joint pain, fever, and rash.

In addition to the direct transmission of these diseases, mosquito bites can also cause allergic reactions and irritation, leading to itching and discomfort. Mosquitoes can also disrupt outdoor activities and reduce tourism in areas where they are prevalent.

At Bug Pro LLC, we use various methods to control mosquito populations. For example, source reduction involves eliminating or reducing mosquito breeding sites, such as stagnant water, which is where female mosquitoes lay their eggs. Here is where our trained technicians identify and eliminate areas of standing water around your property, including flower pots, bird baths, and gutters.

Next we turn to chemicals that kill mosquito larvae before they can mature into biting adults. We apply these larvicides to standing water where mosquitoes breed to prevent larvae from developing. In turn, adulticides are chemicals used to kill adult mosquitoes. We use a variety of methods to apply adulticides, including fogging, misting, or spraying. They may also use mosquito traps, which lure mosquitoes with carbon dioxide and then capture them. We may also recommend the use of mosquito repellents, such as citronella candles or sprays, to help keep mosquitoes away from your property.

It's important to note that mosquito control is not a one-time event, it’s a process which is why there is a treatment plan for controlling mosquitoes given mosquitoes can quickly repopulate if breeding sites are not identified and eliminated. We highly recommend regular treatments to keep mosquito populations in check.
